I DID NOT SAY I AM GOING TO SING GOSPEL_ SIDNEY
.
Ghanaian hiplife star, Barima Sidney, has refuted the news around that he’s now going to sing gospel music .
Speaking on Bakwai based radio station Dess fm with the host Ogee, last Saturday on Dess Entertainment, the “Sikadie Basaa” star said that news going around is never true. “No, that news is not true. I had an interview last week and one caller from Obuasi who said he loves my music but he will plead with me to sing gospel music. So I told her that from Apuskeleke album and the rest I normally add one gospel track that I dedicate to God. Then I was asked to mention my favorite gospel artiste which I said my is Ceccy Twum whom I am planning to have one gospel track with her on my yet to be released album somewhere next month October, “My Last Coup d’tat”as I usually do. I didn’t say I have stopped from hiplife to gospel. I said I have only one gospel track that I intend doing on my album”.
Commenting about why he would not accept that responsibility, Sidney said gospel music is a call and not something you push yourself .
“My brother, gospel music is a ministry and it is a call from God. It is the same as pastoral ministry so you don’t wake up one morning and say I am going to sing gospel music. When the call comes, you have to leave everything that you are doing to do it. I have not heard that call from God so I won’t rush into it. I am concerned with the rots in the society, that’s what I look forward for. When the call comes, everybody will see it not that I hate going gospel. My foundation is Jesus Christ so in every album that I bring out, I dedicate one track on the album to him”. There were news around that Sidney is changing from hiplife music to gospel which he is going to collaborate with Ceccy Twum, one Ghanaian gospel star.
