Ghanaians should be on girded up as Mad House Entertainment Records presents Kay Owusu; the new prince of highlife.
Kay Owusu, the young talented, energetic, skilful and stylish artiste, is set to bring the whole of Ghana to a stand – still as he shows off his prowess in the highlife genre. Dr. Cann, manager of the highlife king explained to Flex newspaper that, highlife has been dead for some time now due to dancehall and hip-life taking over the scene, but Kay Owusu is the new prince to revive the dead tunes of highlife.
“Ghana should watch out for him. He’s talented, skilfull, energetic especially when it comes to performance with the instruments, you can’t go wrong with him. I have no difficulty managing him simply because he is good, someone you would love to see, a straight in your face kind of artiste who is bringing highlife back to Ghana,” Dr Cann said.
Kay Owusu, who came into the lime light last year, released a single called ‘Asore’ which was banned for its sexually suggestive video and lyrics, has brought out two new singles called ‘Odorkor’ and ‘Daben’ that are being promoted now.
The new artiste has been through re-branding from last year, and is bringing to Ghanaians, a new face of highlife music called Afro centric, songs depicting Africanism, deeply rooted in African tunes to bring respect to highlife. “Ghanaians should watch out for something never seen before. We are well prepared to bring out the very best and current highlife musician in Kay Owusu,” Dr Cann concluded.
