KK Fosu Apologizes To Musicians & Stakeholders Over “Wee” Comments
After countless bashing from some Ghanaian musicians over a defamatory comment passed on them by their colleague artiste, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu, famously known as KK Fosu, the latter has apologized for his statement in a press release.
The Highlife artiste revealed in an interview a week or so ago that, about 99% of Ghanaian musicians smoke marijuana to boost their stage antics and this statement has hence instigated many public backlashes.
Renowned Gospel musician, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, who found KK’s statement to be an indictment on all Gospel artistes as well, asked KK to render an apology as soon as possible or he would take it upon himself to sue KK Fosu on behalf of his fellow musicians.
Although, a section of the public deems KK Fosu’s statement as an open secret and finds nothing wrong with it, the conscience of the Anadwo Yede singer has prompted him to express his regret over the statement.
“I, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu popularly known in showbiz circles as KK Fosu on my own behalf and on behalf of my management would like to render an unqualified Apology to all Musicians in Ghana and Stakeholders of the music industry for the unfortunate and derogatory remarks I made on some showbiz platforms about the use of marijuana in Ghana.”, the press release stated.
Speaking on the AM Pluzz show, Mel Kwesi Davis, a management member of KK Fosu, disclosed that, the apology rendered by their artiste was inspired by a careful reflection and analysis KK made on the statement, after which he felt ashamed to be such an ignorant pioneer in the music industry.
